Welcome note

Dear Madam/Sir, Dear Colleagues,

After a very successful start in Frankfurt a. M. in 2018, we would like to invite you once more to the 54th Annual Conference of our Society in Kap Europa to Frankfurt.

The motto of this year’s congress is “Future Neuroradiology” and within in this context we will emphasize the importance of neuroradiology as a cross-sectional subject for the medicine of the future, as well as the question of what changes in diagnostic and therapy are to be expected in the future due to new developments in the area of artificial intelligence.

Therefore, for the first time, we will launch a forum with StAR-Lounge (Start-up and Applied Research) this year, that brings developers of artificial intelligence, robotic and big-data-analyzes and users together and stimulates discussions and further developments. In addition, a application-oriented workshop with the topic “Artificial Intelligence for Neuroradiologists” will take place at the beginning of the congress.

We will take into account of the interdisciplinary character of neuroradiology by discussing the major disease-related topics like neuro-oncology, inflammatory CNS disorders, neurodegeneration, spinal column and cerebrovascular diseases in dialogue with colleagues from neighboring disciplines.

To offer attractive presentation possibilities to the new generation of scientists we will expect another innovation: the sessions with power pitches challenge the speakers to make their projects appealing to a large audience within a short time, before the topic is being deepened on the poster.

In addition to the innovations, we are of course continuing with the well-proven: Fit for the specialist/training academy, the video-cases and the MTRA-program under the responsibility of the association of medical-technical professions in the German Society of Radiology are also fixed components of the annual convention as well as the keynote lectures or the last years newly started neuro-anatomy course

Of course, we will also offer the German Stroke School primarily for foreign colleagues but also for selected German speaking specialists.

Following the good tradition, we are again hosting the Annual Meeting 2019 together with the Austrian Society for Neuroradiology (ÖGNR) and we are looking forward to many participants from the neighboring country.

With best regards,

Prof. Dr. Claus Zimmer, Munich

Prim. Dr. Johannes Trenkler, Linz
